If we love watching shows on the wonders of nature but don’t like seeing the reality of its rampant destruction (along with solutions & stories of heroes) perhaps we should complain instead to governments & industries giving us energies, materials & products that are wrecking it?

I hope the prime minister is aware that salaries of postdoctoral researchers have reached such a low level in this country that this law would make it impossible for UK scientists to employ international experts

It would be a huge own goal!
