Spoiled: back-to-back NEJM studies on colorectal cancer screening❗️

Although comparing across studies, my summary below suggests:
➡️Next Gen STOOL DNA has much higher sensitivity for CRC and advanced adenomas than cell-free DNA BLOOD TEST at same specificity.

Also loved spending QT with MGH Division of Gastroenterology rockstar 3rd yr fellows (I kinda look like a fellow in these too 😂).

✅ 45-49 yr olds - underwent screening colonoscopy, ADR = 28.2%

✅ Similar to what is rec for 50-54 yr old

✅ Re-inforces ACG & other organizations recommendations to start CRC screening at 45 yrs

Only 38% of women achieve K to R transition 😐 More mentorship and sponsorship is needed!
