was a special day for our mentor Jane and the other mentors to deliver workshops that where very well received, thanks to the students for such positive engagement with all our mentors through out the day.

Prevention of the revolving door of prisons doesn't only starts from the prison Gate pick ups, like our mentors provide, Prevention starts when you prevent young people going into the system/prisons in the first place we deliver that to the curriculum Jenny Gilruth Angela Constance

in certain circumstances and life threatening situations we bend the boundaries, not break them but bend them enough to make changes.

The past week we had three gate pick ups
All three over the first 72hrs if not before were Housed, medical care, Benefits, two stop benefit claims as they start work this week!

Our increasing total Scottish Prison Service population is of huge concern, but looking at this graph of the women's population from July '22 - July '23, can anyone tell me if this looks like the correct time to close services in the community like Turning Point Scotland 218 project? Anyone?

Thanks to REACH for coming and delivering this workshop to our volunteer mentors along with trustee Ann Pike our mentors got so much from this that it will help them help others in our outreach work with so much more understanding. jedbrady Kevin Neary@AidnAbet

Utilizing Lived experience of Mentors who have been part of the revolving door of prisons supporting those from the gate helping people transition back into the community, is the solution.
we also prevent our young people going into the system!

Locking up is not the solution!!
