There is no life on 🌍 without wetlands.

They cover only 6% of the planet, but support 40% of species on earth and store more carbon than all the world’s forests combined.

I'm delighted to be featured as a hero of Chris Packham in his Radio Times Earth Day special, alongside the brilliant Katie Monk.

I was interviewed about the recent Warren Farm campaign success, a collaborative effort involving WarrenFarmNatureReserve, Brent River Park and many others.

Whenever someone asks me, 'What wildflower is easy to grow & good for bees?'....which happens quite a lot, my answer is AlWAYS the dandelion.

When these fitties grow in clumps, that bursting yellow is just magic & bees, like this buff tailed bumblebee love them.

Let them grow!

One of two Cuckoo here at Kinnabus, RSPB Scotland The Oa, this afternoon.

Early arrival for a species we generally don’t get sightings of until later in the month, Storm Kathleen no doubt playing a part in that.

Cambridgeshire data holes.
As the 2024 butterfly season gets up and running here's a couple of maps from the 2023 data.
Left is a heat map of the number of records, right species richness.
This is a fairly typical year in records 🧵
