Leo Bombayage ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ In my 1st year of uni, I was unhappy, overwhelmed & felt inadequate. I went to him for advice (he was my academic advisor!) & instead of support he suggested that HE wasnโ€™t for me. I changed course the next year to Geography at Durham where I had the BEST time with supportive academics

'Perhaps that's why Jacob Rees-Mogg and Rishi Sunak still talk about Britain as if it were at the head of a global superpower. It is not their children who are getting shorter and they have never stood in line at a food bank.'

Pleased to pass my PhD viva yesterday with no corrections. Many thanks to my examiners Dr Sara Silvestri and Sara Fregonese for their challenging questions and advice for the future. If anyone wants to discuss the long-term urban impacts of terrorism, I'll be in the pub. Cheers!

The Government has apparently drawn up plans to broaden the definition of extremism to include anyone who โ€œunderminesโ€ the countryโ€™s institutions and its values.

I do that.

Should I be worried? A thread....

1000s of words have been said in reply to Lineker. It interests me that hardly anyone has looked closely at what terms and phrases were being used in Germany in the 1930s to see if they match (or not) what's said today by Ms Braverman. I offered a list, meant only as a starter.
