Opening to the public on Friday 10 May at Laing Art Gallery. See the 'Greatest Painting in Britain', which has never been shown in northern England before.
These are highly distinctive items. The torc had a huge diameter 126.5cm, much bigger than many.

Working alongside Essex FLO & Team HE Heritage Crime after the following Ring was found in the Essex Police in Braintree District area.
The ring was identified as Treasure
It was failed to be declared within the relevant times
The finder has been issued a Community Resolution & educated in the Treasure act

A relatively early addition to Portable Antiquities, recorded in 1999.

Here's a throwback to 2021. 2021T481, an Early Medieval gold sword pommel, dating to the 7th century. One side depicts a pair of beasts facing, the other zoomorphic entwined beasts. Found in the Harborough district of Leicestershire.
