'Ticking two boxes', ethnic minority women meet both gender & ethnic quota imperatives at once but fight two battles due to intersections of racism & sexism 1/
In this new paper Dr Neema Begum & I use 85 interviews with ethnic minority women & men in local gov. to show that despite minority women experiencing increased success at the stage of selection, they still experience sexism, racism, and an intersection of these. Short thread 1/
