When discussing concerns on the expansion of the PA workforce & role, I have heard stated:

โ€œConcerns are only being raised by a vocal minority on SoMeโ€

โ€œThose complaining have not worked with PAsโ€

โ€œMost teams who include a PA work well togetherโ€

โ€œPAs help with training timeโ€ฆ

I ๐Ÿ’ฏ accept the caveats that there is still work to do, and the issue isnโ€™t resolved.

However I was glad to be part of the Royal College of Physicians team who attended the meeting which has resulted in NHS England stating clearly:

โ€œPAs are not doctors, and cannot and must not replaceโ€ฆ

We welcome this letter from NHS England, making clear its position on PAs.

Taking a minute before teaching today to sit quietly by the Covid memorial at Royal College of Physicians the birdsong is beautiful & I forget Iโ€™m in central London. I lost my beautiful Aunty to Covid & work with many doctors that still feel the trauma, we are thankful for the NHS ๐Ÿ’™
