Enjoyed writing this with firdaus parveen Abbie Scholes & Nick: Continuous flow as an enabling technology for sustainable supramolecular chemistry sciencedirect.com/science/articl….
Crystal snapshots of our organic cages with tuneable cavity heights controlled by conformation out now in ChemComm doi.org/10.1039/D4CC01….
Great job by Caitlin Shields, Thomas Fellowes and team, and a worthy first corresponding-author paper for Filip Szczypiński 👨🔬🍷!
It is now available at ChemComm: pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/Art… 🥳 big congrats to Caitlin Shields (and of course Thomas Fellowes , Andy Cooper, Anna Slater (she/her) , Keith Andrews) 🥳
Second International Food Day Festival of AI Cooper Group - delightfully delicious !!!!!! #aicoopergroupyay A I Cooper group
Preprint now out with Filip Szczypiński 👨🔬🍷! Amide organic cages have a shallow energy surface where each amide rotation changes the cavity height. At least, so we suspected. The great automation team at Liverpool managed to crystallise all 5 accessible conformers.

In the lab, Caitlin and Thomas Fellowes (working with Anna Slater (she/her) and Andy Cooper), managed to identify all five different structures, giving access to a wide range of acid-acid distances across the binding cavity.
Some time ago Keith Andrews and I met at a conference and had a chat by his poster that it would be quite exciting to try and crystallise his cage in a number of different geometries with an automated liquid-liquid crystallisation setup:
