2/2 To repair these will be very expensive and take up volunteer resources. This comes at a time when TCV Merseyside have come to the end of their main funding grant for their Friday volunteers group. This will have a huge impact on the management of the Countess of Chester Country Park. Very sad.

1/2 Now that the flooding on the lower paths in the Countess of Chester Country Park has receded you can see now why we warned people not to try and wade through. Damage to the river bank caused by owners allowing their pet dogs to jump in is undermining the path and making them very dangerous.

Complete spear shafts from Must Farm ranged in length from 2.6m to 3.4m which may explain why most were associated with light structures around the edges of the site. These long lengths may have prevented them from being easily brought and stored into the roundhouses.

It’s been a privilege watching these frescoes of scenes from Trojan mythology emerge from the pumice in Region 9, Pompeii Sites.
And what an unforgettable experience it’s been working with Rebecca Morelle and others to bring these discoveries to the public gaze this week. .
