The tops of UK #universities are unaccountable -- like top of the #PostOffice

They live in a bubble of six-figure salaries. They have no connection with those doing research & teaching

There is no accountability. No-one will resign or apologise for the injustice

We had to suggest to an indifferent York Uni that we might take legal action before they finally bothered to pick up on our daughter's deteriorating MH. Uni's thinking they have no duty of care to students is arrogant & disgusting. #DoBetter

2/6 It was easy to make this presentation less stressful. We routinely make allowances at my #university (itself an uncaring place).

University of Bristol argue that the 'duty of care' to students needs clarifying.

All that was needed was the humanity to make a simple adjustment.

So many senior professors -- even if kindly at a personal level -- are cautious, pragmatic & strategic in their dealings in the department or the university. They are unwilling to take a stand. This is why #bullying thrives in #universities

Your #university 's anti-bullying policy is an absolutely lethal weapon ... for anyone who tries to use it.

If victims try to expose a bully, it is they who are routinely blamed for 'causing trouble' or 'holding the department to ransom'.

Bound by no laws, unlike everyone else in the country, they literally get away with murder. And what is the Govt doing - hiding & kicking the can down the road.
