We’re pleased to announce that Mike Danks has been appointed as the new Chief of District of North Van Fire & Rescue Services.

Chief Danks served as Deputy Fire Chief, overseeing emergency operations with DNV Fire Rescue Services since June 2023.

Today we recognize Captain Harvey McKay, age 58 and a 30 year veteran of DNVFRS. Harvey had his last alarm March 14th 2003, as he succumbed to occupational cancer after a lengthy and courageous fight. His condition was a direct result of job related exposure.

After 8 years of service with DNVFRS, Fire Chief Brian Hutchinson is retiring today. Chief Hutchinson has been a dedicated member of our team, and his contributions to the dept have been invaluable.
