Seems that EHBEA 2024 organisers did a fantastic job of providing a “welcoming and safe” environment for ECRs 🙏 Thanks also to EHBEA’s new EDI officer David A. Coall for setting expectations at the start of the conference. So lovely to see such positive comments as this👇❤️
Mohamed Ismail Abdul Kader Joanna Żyrek All of this is particularly impressive given many ECRs were expertly presenting in a language other than their first language, and some were from very early career stages. Just as one example of the latter, Riya Gosrani presented her MSc project “Rethinking health disparities”
Mohamed Ismail Abdul Kader Joanna Żyrek The prize winners are all worthy winners but the prizes easily could have gone to many other ECRs, the standard was so high. Lovely also to see the audience reaction to ECRs: Pavlina Hillerova got a round of applause when she said it was her first conference presentation ❤️
Mohamed Ismail Abdul Kader More congrats to the winner of the best poster award Joanna Żyrek, for her poster on “Clustered reproductive timing among relatives and non-relatives” 🥳🥳
Congrats also to the winner of the best student talk, Mohamed Ismail Abdul Kader, whose talk was: “Reading between the moves: dynamic cues and social perception” 🎉🎉
The future of the evolutionary behavioural sciences is in safe hands if last week’s EHBEA EHBEA 2024 conference is anything to go by. The quality of work presented by ECRs was incredible 😊 Here’s EHBEA New Investigator winner Daniel Redhead being introduced by Abbey Page
