Prioritizing environmental justice means providing all communities with a seat at the table. It's clear that President Biden and his administration are committed to engaging with stakeholders as part of #Justice40 — something I appreciate as a co-chair of Environmental Justice Caucus.

Environmental justice is about following the golden rule. I co-founded Environmental Justice Caucus with Tammy Duckworth and Sen. Cory Booker because we have a moral obligation to provide Americans with clean air to breathe and clean water to drink, regardless of race or zip code. It's time to act.

When Hazel Johnson moved to Chicago & learned her community was a dumping ground for toxic waste from nearby factories, she refused to stay silent. Decades later, I'm proud to continue her work for environmental justice for all as co-founder of the Environmental Justice Caucus in the Senate.

With Senator Tom Carper and Sen. Cory Booker, I launched the first-ever Environmental Justice Caucus in the Senate because no child should grow up without clean air and safe water.
