*Everything* you ever wanted to know about AT! EU Rights and Brexit Hub blog on the Court of Appeal ruling that: ppl w pre-settled status are entitled to Charter protection; the right to dignity means something; and theoretical protection 'in principle' is NOT enough: eurightshub.york.ac.uk/blog/court-of-…
We all deserve to live with dignity in the country we call home. For many EU citizens, when life goes downhill, we can't rely on the welfare safety net we should all be able to count on.

HOSTILE ECOSYSTEM: Immigration and social security laws/policies interact to create and deepen poverty. See EU Rights and Brexit Hub evidence *and case studies* submitted to the Joint Inquiry by APPGs on Poverty and Migration on how punitive measures interact here: eurightshub.york.ac.uk/blog/eurbh-res…
🚨If you are an adviser with a client with PSS who has no EU free movement right to reside do visit Child Poverty Action Group web page (link in Martin Williams post) - even if your client's case is stayed they may be able to rely on the judgment

Appeal dismissed in SSWP v AT (AIRE Centre and IMA intervening) [2023] EWCA Civ 1307. Thanks so much to team: Thomas de la Mare Tom Royston Claire Hall. People with PSS can rely on the judgment now -see our notes on this (and link to judgment) here: cpag.org.uk/welfare-rights…
AT WIN: Court of Appeal *comprehensively* dismisses SSWP's appeal. EU nats with PSS are entitled 2 protection from the Charter of Fundamental Rights, esp right to DIGNITY, via Withdrawal Agreement. AMAZING work from Child Poverty Action Group team and The AIRE Centre intervening

This was an excellent, vibrant event, and a pleasure to take part and think seriously about the intersections of research, practice, impact and justice. And this is a great write up from Joseph Summers capturing the main ideas of the day.
