It would be very cool if symbolic regression could be adapted to develop these kinds of code optimizations. Miles Cranmer ever seen/thought of this as a target?

I know someone in HS who has an AAAI student abstract, and more than one workshop paper at NeurIPS Conference and another. They are getting rejected from a lot of the top CS programs. I literally do not understand it at all.
