I loved giving two class guest lectures yesterday. The Plant Metabolomics and Entomology lecture was fun. My lab continues to grow our knowledge about metabolites and insect/plant interactions and how stress combinations further changes what we currently know.

Today, three of my undergraduate students are presenting their research at our annual UIUC undergraduate research symposium. You are invited. The Ngumbi Lab is proud of all of them.

“They’re looking at us to do our part!” #EarthDay should help us see how human activity impacts the natural world. In #Borneo , I saw rich biodiverse #rainforests next to endless #oil #palm plantations stripped of everything native. We save ourselves by protecting wild places.

Embrace the challenges. Celebrate the little wins in life. Live every. And — Remember to smell the fragrant scents that the fleeting spring brings along.
