Genuinely can’t quite believe that @Labour is supporting fuel duty freeze which
- has cost c. £90bn since 2010
- increased emissions by 7%
- benefits wealthiest most
Has it totally given up on progressive politics? #Budget2024
Simply cannot believe this Govt is still freezing fuel duty. UK Treasury is losing billions of pounds which could be spent on buses and trains that would benefit everyone, particular the poorest households - 40% of whom don’t own a car #Budget2024
Responding to the climate emergency and achieving a just transition is the greatest political challenge we face 🌍
Well worth reading the responses of both candidates to be Welsh Labour leader and our next First Minister to Friends of the Earth Cymru's questions 🏴

📢EIR Ltd is proposing to mine coal tips in South Wales to evade Welsh Government policies against coal mining. This idea is bonkers but local community campaigners are already resisting it ✊ With 100s coal tips, this isn't the way to remediate them🌏

Tory MP Chris Skidmore quits over oil & gas licences. Memo to Sunak - this is what principled politics looks like. A real pleasure working with Chris Skidmore on climate & he’ll be much missed. Huge indictment of Govt reckless maxing out fossil fuels bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…
