At dawn on the 25 Apr 1915, The Lancashire Fusiliers landed on W Beach, on the Gallipoli Peninsula, where the Turks opened fire. Despite heavy losses for the Fusiliers, six VC’s were awarded for this action.

This morning, a team from First Fusiliers were in Germany to brief the PM on the Boxer Mechanised Infantry Vehicle.

First Fusiliers will be the first unit in the British Army 🇬🇧 to receive Boxer.

As the battalion will be on post deployment leave during St George’s Day we made sure to celebrate early. We celebrated by hosting the remainder of the battle group we spent 6 months with in Estonia for various activities.

Boxing success! Last night, Fus Calderwood boxed his way to the Inter-Sevice Championships 🥊 Fus Moore sadly missed out with a split decision.

Today command has officially been passed from First Fusiliers to 5 Rifles! Well done First Fusiliers! 5 Rifles enjoy your time in Estonia 🇪🇪

This morning, we handed responsibility for Op CABRIT 🇪🇪 to the 5 Rifles Battlegroup.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past six months. It has been a team effort from everyone in Estonia, those supporting from the UK, and most importantly, our families.

It has become a tradition on Op CABRIT for Battlegroups to mark their deployments with a ‘we were here’ stone. There was only one thing we could have on ours!

Glacial boulders are common across 🇪🇪 and were deposited when the ice shelf retreated ~10,000 years ago.

The last Royal Air Force flights are departing Estonia taking our First Fusiliers team home for some well deserved time off. 5 Rifles are getting settled and preparing to assume command.

The 🇬🇧-led Battlegroup in 🇪🇪 is rotating as it does every six months.

The Battlegroup led by Lt Col James Fern of First Fusiliers is handing over this week to a Battlegroup led by Lt Col Kempley Buchan-Smith of 5 Rifles

PNCO Cadre tactical phase in sub-zero conditions🇪🇪 ✅

First Fusiliers on the patrol wee deliver orders to their sections before executing demanding patrol actions. The course also had the chance to call in fast air, communicating directly with Belgium 🇧🇪 F-16s.
