One of the Whimbrel at the Wheldrake roost this year was ringed in April 2006. Undertaking an annual migration of 16,000 km this bird has now potentially clocked up around 300,000 km - in parts fuelled by a handful of fields around Hagg Bridge/Storwood - amazing! Yorkshire Wildlife Trust
This data provides robust evidence on which to base our conservation approaches and interventions to help these incredible birds, as well as the many other species which use the reserve and surrounding land York Birding Natural England Y&NL
