Positive signs of change!
Well done to Gas Networks Ireland on their biodiversity improvement plan in their Bride valley site. Over 300 mixed native hedgerow plants, 60 native trees, pond, wildflower meadow, log piles, etc. This replaces 20 non-native Cypress trees and manicured management

Some lovely Briza media (Quaking Grass) now in flower at an old quarry outside Moycullen! One of my favourite grasses! Juniperus communis also beginning to take in limestone areas! BotanyPlantScience Irish Semi-natural Grasslands

We love a good low-mow success story😍

Benjamin from Westport told us he's now got orchids in his garden🐝

'We've used the mow every 6 weeks method since 2021 & mow one patch once a year. Orchids appeared for the first time 2 years ago, and even more last spring!'

I honestly didn't know where to start with all my photos from Sunday's visit to the well-known Kent Wildlife Trust Green-winged Orchid site, Marden Meadows. Thousands of plants showing a wonderful variation in colour. It was a real bank holiday treat to spend time with them. 😍
