There will be no gardening session next week in The Dell (Tuesday 22nd August) as lots of people are on holidays. ☀️🌞☀️

💚Gordon: “We are very blessed we are as we only live 100 yards down the road from [our local park], so we can be up here most afternoons.”

💚Elizabeth: “I always think it's nice to be in the green space we have here in Doncaster and there's often lots of birds and wildlife around. The robin often comes and watches us, you hear the birds around and the trees rustling - it does you good, emotionally and mentally.'

💚Jenny: “The work we do volunteering in the park, is a good social activity as you're with other people and you can chat to them as you're doing it, it's just physically and mentally stimulating.”

As part of #LoveParksWeek , we’ve been asking local residents what it is about their local open spaces which makes them special.

Armthorpe Elmfield Brass Band in Hexthorpe Flatts Park on a wonderful summer afternoon.

That initial enquiry has now led to the recent instalment of a a new & fully accessible pétanque pitch now open in Hexthorpe Flatts Park!👏🌳

Funded by GetDoncasterMoving, Hexthorpe Flatts Park is now the only location in Doncaster & South Yorkshire with a pétanque pitch!
