This afternoon, Year 6 have had a reading afternoon: recommending texts to each other, listening to our trust school story time and then reading buddies! Delightful!

Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a brilliant online author talk with Pari Thomson on her book 'Greenwild'. It was fascinating to hear about Pari's inspirations. We can't wait to read it!

Scholastic Book Fair is at Ilsham Academy this week. Lots of great books available. The book fair is open for parents to attend between 3pm and 4pm today.

The Hollies had a great author event with Spark nominated author Andy Jones. He really inspired the children when he talk about how he creates his characters for his novels. We can’t wait to read ‘Bob and the Selfie Zombies’. @IshamEngHub @Spark! School Book Awards

The Willows and Rowans enjoyed a Spark Book Awards, online author event. They listened to the story of Mr. Mornington’s Favourite Things. Spark! School Book Awards

Today, two of our Silver Stories readers (children who read to older members of the community) received their own Silver Stories lapel pins. We are very proud of the dedication both children have shown to this charity. @IshamEngHub

The Rowans have enjoyed a lovely afternoon. They enjoyed a taster cricket sesssion and rounded the day off sharing stories and enjoying a yummy hot chocolate.

In book club, the Rowans have been reading one of their favourite 5 stories, ‘Oi Dog!’ Today they drew their favourite part of the story. Can you guess what their favourite parts are? #ReadingForPleasure

It was fabulous to welcome author, Julian Hilton, to our school today. The children loved hearing the story about sausages and finding out how to become a self-published author.
