I am generally agnostic about the annual onslaught of literary awards, but this one is typically an exception. Any one of these books would be a worthy winner. I recommend them all (and their excellent publishers)!

Four of the films I've watched recently had credits for a dog: The Eternal Daughter, Anatomy of A Fall, The Old Oak and tonight, Aki Kaurismäki's Fallen Leaves.
I'd have to give Snoop/Messi the award for best performance but I shed a few tears when Marra/Lola died in The Old Oak.
