There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical of the presidential council in Haiti.

But its first statement, released last night, is interesting.

The US and CARICOM had said the council needed to select a president before moving forward.

The council just said no.

'Haitians have hardly failed to notice that they are being forced to seek refuge in the country that has made their own unliveable.'
