Well done and thank you to everyone involved in this new A61 walking and cycling route 👏 Barnsley Council

Means a lot to me to come back to the town where I was born to open a path that will enable opportunity, activity, health and freedom.

Pleased to attend the official opening of the A61 active travel scheme, which provides a four-mile walking and cycling route from the transport interchange through to Royston.

We even had a race between Ed Clancy OBE and Mayor of Barnsley, with Mr Mayor winning on a photo finish!

UPDATE: following concerns raised by residents on the new Lundhill Drive estate about incomplete highways remediation works, I have been in touch with Highways Development Control.

I am assured that a programme of works is in place and expected to be finished in early July.

Wombwell Labour councillors at today’s PACT meeting with South Yorkshire Police and Safer Neighbourhoods Service.

We raised the issues of off-road bikes and antisocial behaviour that residents have raised in recent weeks.

Working together for a stronger, safer Wombwell. 👮🏻🚓

Helping constituents is the bread-and-butter of being a local councillor.

I’ve opened 465 cases and been available all-year round for residents in need of help.

If I’m re-elected, I’ll continue to be approachable, accessible and available to Wombwell residents.
