Had an enjoyable night last week presenting my new talk, 'Church Lane: From grease and grime to soap and sanitation' to returning clients, the lovely London West End WI. My talk begins in the 1840s at the heart of the Rookery and ends at the Pears Soap emporium on New Oxford St.
