Say hello to the latest brand new escalator unveiled at Embarcadero.

These new units are a huge win for riders because they are reliable, clean, safe and modern.

We are replacing all 41 escalators in downtown San Francisco in phases. Funded by Measure RR.

BART ridership yesterday was 93k exits.
That is just shy of the top 10 ridership days for a Saturday post pandemic.

We’ve increased cleaning and patrols and now run all 5 lines seven days a week so there is less waiting. September will bring even better service on weekends.

Clean, crowded, unremarkable BART ride to the East Bay tonight.

And a very short wait for a train at the clean and unremarkable downtown SF station.

Couldn’t be happier. Transit should work — and otherwise be plain and not particularly memorable.

VTA Boardmember Vice Mayor Sergio Lopez and I wrote to Rebecca Saltzman earlier this week, concerned that routine BART service wouldn’t be sufficient to support transit connections after the Taylor Swift concert.

Unsurprisingly, BART staff were already on top of it.

Today in Tallahassee, Nick Gee @caasanfrancisco spoke out against #SB264 , Florida's Alien Land Law.

'Florida is not unique in its exclusionary laws,' he said. 'In Texas, the community fought back and we defeated #SB147 . We will do the same here, Florida.'

The BART family welcomes another brand new escalator to Downtown San Francisco.

A third completely rebuilt and now modern escalator has reopened to the public at Montgomery. Crews completed the work on the unit that connects the western platform to the concourse last month.

In a first ever for BART, we are running advertisements written in Chochenyo, the language of the Ohlone people who have called the East Bay their ancestral home for millennia.

The advertisements promote a new exhibition at Exploratorium.

The Assembly Transportation Committee just passed our bill (SB 532) to enact a temporary bridge toll to ensure Bay Area public transportation agencies can modernize & not be forced to slash service. Thank you, colleagues!

We are thankful to California HCD for granting $3.59m in REAP 2.0 funds announced today. This grant will allow BART to finance pre-development activities for affordable housing projects on BART territory, such as a senior affordable housing project on Lake Merritt Station.

Assembly Transportation Committee just passed SB 532, Sen Senator Scott Wiener’s bill to raise bridge tolls for 5 years to fund Bay Area transit operations.

This bill will prevent devastating BART service cuts and support robust transit service.

Be sure to load Clipper Cards in advance with round trip fare to avoid lines. If you don’t have a Clipper Card, add one to your phones wallet from home before leaving.

As we debate whether Bay Area transit systems should have the resources to avoid massive service cuts — fundamentally, that’s what the debate is about — we need to ask ourselves whether the Bay Area will be a better or worse place if these systems collapse.

BART Board just voted to support Senator Scott Wiener's SB 532, which will raise bridge tolls for 5 years to fund Bay Area transit operations.

While funds in state budget help, BART and other operators still have a huge fiscal gap. SB 532 will prevent drastic cuts to transit service.
