I sat across a table from Lee Zeldin for 17 depositions during the 1st impeachment.

He was the member the GOP relied on to peddle every false conspiracy theory they could think of. Even Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows would not go there.

Zeldin is far too extreme for any office.

1. Since Lee Zeldin mentioned me last night during the debate, I feel the need to respond. He's right, there is a less than 0% chance that I would send him a bill to curb abortion rights in NY...

2. But as Governor, Zeldin could 100% use the executive budget process to try and jam through his conservative agenda, including severely limiting reproductive services or ending abortion rights altogether. His comment about not ending abortion rights was disingenuous at best.

Republican politicians are refusing to condemn their party’s leader as he praises Putin for invading a U.S. ally. It’s un-American.

Following GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy’s Convention remarks where he stated “We need to start acting like the Ukrainians, like the everyday citizens who are risking their lives for freedoms,” New York State Democratic Party Chair Jay S. Jacobs released the following statement:

“If Chairman Langworthy is so interested in “acting like the Ukrainians” to protect our freedoms, perhaps he should start by condemning the January 6th insurrection and all those who promoted it.”

Trump-aligned extremist Big Lie Lee just secured the NY GOP nomination for Governor.

State Political organizations need to lead by encouraging the exchange of ideas, not by promoting hateful speech. But then again, this is the same Party that did not condemn the Jan 6th insurrection that has caused the death of multiple police officers by Trump loyalists.

Message from Chairman Jay S. Jacobs: The so called “Proud Boys” marched in Rockville Centre on Saturday. They have nothing to be proud of. Not unless ignorance, bigotry, hate and standing on the losing side of history has become something that elicits pride.

A verdict of not guilty does not necessarily mean innocence. This is an example of a system that often treats people differently depending on the community they're from and what they look like. This sad day reminds us that we have much further to go to for a more perfect union
