Ding dong, the Metro/Caltrans 23 year push to widen the lower 710 Freeway is dead! Kudos to CEHAJ (esp EYCEJ Adrian L. Martinez) for decades of resistance!

Maybe declare a climate emergency, and freeze the Metro highway widening budget at the current level.

In 2022, there are these climate and housing emergencies, so perhaps Metro board could - similar to 2020 - just freeze the highway expansion budget? Tell Metro Highway Program to work within the existing budget total approved last year, instead of continuing to increase funding

Back in 2020, when there was this pandemic emergency thing, Metro froze its budget. The board told departments to just stay within the dollar amounts that they had been approved for the year before.

Infill development in a parking requirement world. You can’t mandate this sort of thing and then be surprised when units are expensive.

What the heck is this ⁦Los Angeles Times⁩? This framing directly implies that the DA himself is responsible for a violent crime surge which, btw, is happening in every part of the country, including in areas with very different DAs.
