So, Calgary Economic Dev released our new civic brand - “Blue Sky City.” There will be debates about who likes it and who doesn’t. That’s fine.

For me, 00’s of teen mentors at BBBS Calgary perfectly encapsulate the brand essence.

Show up for each other.

And, the sky’s the limit.

So pleased to attend the announcement for Alberta Government $103 million over seven years in funding for the Arts Commons Transformation and Olympic Plaza Transformation project.

Total secured funding now over $420 million.

Congrats to the visionary Alex Sarian and his team!

83% of the staff at BBBS Calgary are women.

They are also 2/3 of our volunteer mentors.

Thank goodness.

The team marked International Women’s Day by doing The Secret 3K.

You know how long time ago, kids flying alone on an airplane wore a sign around their neck reading “Unaccompanied Minor” but we stopped doing that because it was stupid and dangerous to draw attention to a vulnerable kid feeling alone and worried. Yeah Alberta, it’s like that.
