Today, the #LACoFD hosted its 2nd Annual Retirement Celebration Luncheon at FD headquarters.

Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien & Fire Captain Sheila Kelliher were joined by colleagues, families & friends to properly honor recently retired personnel for their many years of County service.

Family, friends and colleagues gathered together today to honor the life of Fire Captain Henry H. Flores.

Captain Flores was remembered as a dedicated public servant, with a deep love for his family and faith.

Captain Flores will never be forgotten. 🚒🙏🏼💔🕊️

Today the #LACoFD held a Flag Ceremony at FS 169 in remembrance of Fire Captain Henry H. Flores who passed away on April 8th. 

Captain Flores faithfully served #LACounty residents for 23 years.

On 4/25, #LACoFD FFs responded to a report of a single-story strip mall fire in the City of Lynwood.  

The IC called for a 2nd alarm resource assignment. There were no reported injuries to civilians or FFs. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

THIS IS JUST A DRILL: USAID disaster teams don't wait for crises to strike to jump into action. Today, our urban search and rescue team VA-TF1 / USA-1 - Urban Search and Rescue conducted drills recreated from past disaster responses. Practice ensures our teams are prepared to save lives before a crisis hits.

This evening, the #LACoFD hosted the 2024 Valor and Exemplary Service Awards Ceremony at the Pasadena Convention Center, highlighting remarkable Department team members, public safety partners, and Good Samaritans for unwavering acts of heroism, bravery, and admirable service.

On 4/22, #LACoFD FFs responded to an apartment house fire on S. Vermont Ave. in the City of Gardena. 1 FF & 3 civilians were treated on scene & transported to local area hospitals for further evaluation & treatment.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Congratulations to Deputy Fire Chief Vince Pena who retired from the #LACoFD after 43 years of dedicated service.

Last Friday, Chief Pena officially hung his turnout coat.
