Computational astrophysicists Professors Robert Crain, Ian McCarthy & Dr Andreea Font of LJMU Astrophysics will use the UK’s pre-eminent scientific supercomputing facility to simulate the evolution of the Universe from just after the Big Bang all the way to present day.
Huge congrats to Liverpool John Moores University astrophysics student Alex Hill, who today passed his PhD viva voice examination with flying colours. Big thanks to external examiner Noam Libeskind and the internal examiner Steve Longmore.
Our next challenge has been set by LJMU Astrophysics, we are designing our own Lathom High School telescope, we have to consider materials, size and shape of mirrors, weight and the site of where our telescope will be situated plus making sure it comes in under budget! 🔭🌍💰 #ScienceSuperstars
