This is disastrous, hideous news. NHS England are hacking back the mental health support for hospital staff. One doctor takes their life every three weeks. One nurse takes their life every single week. These numbers will now INCREASE. Victoria Atkins - please do the right thing.

One area of NHS policy I have struggle to understand is why NHS England pays more to non-GP providers to provide community services when the most cost-effective policy would be to invest in general practices. The increased fragmentation of NHS primary care isn’t helping anyone.

The GMC should not be the regulator for physician associates (PAs) and anaesthetic associates (AAs) in the UK. PAs and AAs should have their own regulator that is independent from the regulator for doctors. Having the same regulator will create confusion and blurring of roles.
