I have a hunch that many professional arguments are underpinned by a paradoxical agreement between the arguing parties. People are often saying the same thing to each other, with a tone of disagreement. It would be nice to be able to recognise this in the heat of debate.

There's a lot of noise about 'transformation' & 'improvement' in NHS. But I think the feeling of making a difference is quieter & behind the scenes- it's the little things at a personal level. The conversation when we heard each other, the word of encouragement that really landed

Been thinking about language since my conv with Adrian from Learning from Excellence . On the podcast he reflected we are sometimes limited by our language & the words we try to use to describe how we are feeling. Language doesn't just communicate emotion, it shapes what we are feeling too.
