I bring you the velvety fruit-eating bat from Ecuador. The name says it all really! This gorgeous guy is a key fruit eater and seed disperser, critical to rainforest regeneration. #bats #Conservation

October is here! More mating is taking place, and building up fat reserves is becoming crucial to survive the winter season. Bats are seeking suitable hibernation sites, and beginning periods of torpor.

Join us this Sunday at 5pm when we will be kicking off #BatFest with artist Maisy Inston teaching us how to draw a bat and sharing some interesting bat facts in our Sketch-a-bat session.

Last night, GoodGym Richmond ran, walked and cycled along the River Thames Society with London Bat Group 🦇 to survey the bat population.

Using special monitors, they counted several 100 bats with all the data recorded for a scientific study with the Bat Conservation Trust 🦇 #GoGoodGetFIt Raleigh Bikes UK

There are over 1,400 species of bats in the world, making up 1/5 of all mammal species and 1/4 of British mammals. Four of the UK’s 17 breeding bat species are red listed as being at risk of extinction. Learn more about UK bat species: buff.ly/3ubI3Cz
