In just over a month my book Capital Shortage is out with Cambridge University Press.

I explain why credit was scarce and expensive, and how this affected development in 20th c India. Climate, law, underground markets are central to the story.

The latest issue of the Economic History Review publishes four papers related to India. Probably for the first time, a major economic history journal published a whole issue dedicated to India-bound topics.
