Slim pickings for the rest of the month, however we may see a short spell of southerly winds and Continental warmth on the 25th (SW England/Wales) and 26th (most of England/Wales), before it turns cold again next Saturday.

26 moths of 12 species in St Mellion last night. Highlights were new for garden Pseudoswammerdamia combinella, plus a couple of likely Elachista cannapenella. Best of the rest were Shoulder Stripe, 5 Brindled Beauty, Lunar Marbled Brown, 5 Muslin Moth and Delicate.

Some nice NFY species in the home (13 of 7) and work (23 of 17) traps overnight (photos). The Ni lure at home attracted a Silver Y. Migrant Lepidoptera in work were Silver Y, Turnip Moth and 2 Dark Sword-grass

14/12 last night (but may have lost some to a torrential squall that went through an hour before dawn and mostly removed the sheets from the washing line).

25 of 15 species in St Mellion. Agonopterix arenella was new for year. Found a pair of Depressaria radiella in cop on the garage wall. Also Frosted Green, Scorched Carpet, Steamer, 2 Water Carpet, 2 Brindled Beauty, 2 Lunar Marbled Brown, 3 Dark Sword-grass, Muslin Moth, Silver Y

1 Udea ferrugalis (Rusty-dot). Only the 2nd of the year
6 Dark Sword-grass (A. ipsilon)
1 Turnip Moth (A. segetum)
2 Delicate (M. vitellina)
2 Angle Shades (P. meticulosa)
24 Silver Y (A. gamma)

What a night St Mellion, with 282 moths of 24 species recorded. Lots of likely migrants -
1 Gem (โ™€๏ธ in at 4:45)
53 Dark Sword-grass
4 Turnip Moth
1 Large Yellow Underwing
1 Delicate
46 Angle Shades (all but 1 arrived between 4:45-5:45)
139 Silver Y, including 32 to ni lure
