Trapping in ancient woodland at Long Melford in Suffolk last night produced fewer moths than previous nights, but this migrant PALPITA VITREALIS (Olive-tree Pearl) was ample compensation; the first one I have actually trapped myself. Migrant Lepidoptera

Migrant Lepidoptera found this Yellow Underwing Pearl near Old Town Churchyard, St Mary’s this morning. First I’ve seen and certainly one I’m happy to have found whilst walking down the road. Amazing underwing too!

Stephen Ruttle trapped this magnificent Striped Hawk-moth at Halfway, Carmarthenshire on Sunday. Stephen's upland farm has a history of attracting exciting migrant moths despite being a fair way inland. Migrant Lepidoptera
