So much of the fear and debate about the gig economy ignores the frightening and massive impacts that will happen when huge firms like Walmart and Amazon start behaving like Uber. Good to see Seattle fighting back.

It’s impossible to overstate what a big deal this is. This is a direct challenge to the entire racialized economic system of the south. Keeping the south union free was a core piece of Jim Crow, because unions bring working people together across race.
