I’m in San Antonio for the book festival, and the Uber driver is an Afghan who served US forces and made it here five years ago. Showed me pictures of his service certificates and of his two children born in America. When someone chooses my country I am never unmoved.

Today Steve Inskeep asked the gov. of Maryland to respond to our investigation that found concrete structures meant to protect the Key Bridge hadn't been updated.

'I want accountability for that,' he said. 'We have to make sure the infrastructure in our state is fully fortified.'

We had Iowa fans over here but congrats to SC. They won in large measure on fundamentals - defense and rebounding. The constant hand in Clark’s face. The steals. Getting a second or even third shot. The game was in reach for Iowa until SC had a rebound and score to go up eight.
