Good, if brief, visit to Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership at Okehampton , where we unveiled the 2023 Avanti West Coast sponsored @nrhawd plaque for the best community project. Well deserved, a great scheme to go with the reopened line.

Making community spaces accessible for all is part of what #CommunityRail members do, so great to visit The Turning Tides Project tea room at #Crediton to see the new fully accessible eco-aware toilet. Glad to work with Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership RailwayHeritageTrust & GWR on this. Yummy scones too!

We were pleased to put colleagues from Network Rail in touch with the St Albans Signal Box Museum and secure a future for an NUR Noticeboard (and its notices!) from the Euston PSB. It was recently handed over to the museum and can now be seen there.

I visited the Bloomsbury Leisure Group's new Victoria Tap at Manchester Victoria this am. Lovely delivery of a part RailwayHeritageTrust funded project, and hopefully an entry in the 2024 Railway Heritage Awd .

We are pleased to be supporting restoration work to the Platform 2 station building at Troon with a grant; it was thankfully unaffected by the fire.

After 7 years at the helm of Scotland’s Railway, I’m proud & excited to be joining Department for Transport as Director General, Rail Services next month. I’m going to miss working with the amazing people at ScotRail & Network Rail Scotland, who work so hard to deliver for our customers.
