My first stop on my Ministerial visit to Fingal was to St. Catherine's Church in Rush, then to Rush Tower House and Lanistown Castle (all Community Monuments Fund conservation projects). I met with volunteers of the Drumanagh Community Archaeology Project.

Since its inception in 2020, the Community Monuments Fund has become a lifeline for the custodians of Ireland’s irreplaceable archaeological heritage, and in my four years as Minister for Heritage I've grown the fund from an initial €1 million to a record €8 million last year.
