'A picture is worth a thousand words'. But what if that picture doesn't load? Or, what if it loads too slow, so slow that the user doesn't even get to see it? Does that mean that the website's content is short a thousand words? #webperf

JPEG's getting an update! The new Jpegli coding library can compress high quality images 35% more than traditional JPEG codecs, which is great for #webperf ! WebP is ~25%-35% smaller than JPEG and also supported by all modern browsers, but this ties them. JPEG is not letting go 😁

Hands down the coolest personal website feature I've seen in my life - especially for a content creator. You're a genius, Tejas Kumar!

Recently, Salma improved *all* her homepage Core Web Vitals by focusing on improving just one metric: Time to First Byte (TTFB).

All it took was two small changes to how data is fetched to reduce the p75 TTFB from 3.46s to just 704ms.
