In a big win for the #ScotlandCares campaign @scotgovoutcomes are proposing a new National Outcome on Care 🥳
If finalised, it must be followed by the policies needed to make it worth the paper it's written on.
More on the difference it could make.

📢 Great news!
For the first time, Scot Gov National Performance Framework Team has backed a new National Outcome on Care
70+ org backed this step in the A Scotland that Cares campaign #ScotlandCares

Today, thanks to the #ScotlandCares campaign, @scotgovoutcomes has proposed a new National Outcome on Care to put care at the centre of its vision for the country. The new Outcome must now be backed up by policies that make a real difference!

We are proud members of the #ScotlandCares campaign, working for justice for unpaid carers.
Carers are one of the groups who are most at risk of being pushed into poverty, and it's right that Scottish Government make them a national priority.
In OTHER news Scottish Government has just answered #ScotlandCares ' campaign call and proposed a dedicated new National Outcome on Care. It mustn't be overshadowed by political upheaval.
The new FM must deliver action to better value & support all carers🔽

You can't hit snooze on the climate crisis.
As Humza Yousaf himself once rightly said: “The time for talking is over; what we need now is action.”

British arms sold to Israel are potentially being used to commit serious violations of international law. The UK must immediately halt arms licences and exports to the Government of Israel. #StopArmingIsrael #CeasefireNOW
Incredibly important and timely new research by Climate Outreach published today. Shows majority of people in Scotland want to move ahead with net zero efforts and believe this will be mostly good, or very good for Scotland. More results and info in thread below👇
Well said 👏
There's been a recklessly inadequate level of action so far and that's got to change.
We need Scottish Parliament to unite to fairly & quickly raise💰 needed to deliver transformative climate action
We can't risk a dangerous race to the bottom on global climate ambition.
📺 In case you missed it, we responded on Channel 4 News to @ScotGov decision to axe the target to cut emissions by 75% by 2030 👇
It's the result of inadequate climate action.
We must focus now on changing that, including fairly raising extra finance to invest at scale & speed
📺As Jamie Livingstone tells BBC Scotland News, Scottish Government's re-writing of its own climate rulebook is an acute global embarrassment and a mess of Ministers' own making.

“The announcement of largely recycled measures represents baby steps forward rather than the giant leaps needed...'
We respond in The Guardian to the package of measures announced by @ScotGov as it revealed plans to axe Scotland's target to cut emissions by 75% by 2030.
The Scottish Government’s abandonment of its legal 2030 and annual emissions reduction targets is a reprehensible retreat caused by its recklessly inadequate level of action to date.

Important thread from Chris Stark 👇
They left me thinking how, if Scotland had strained every sinew and still missed the clearly ambitious 2030 climate target, we could at least say we'd done our best.
But we haven't, so we can't.
This a time for brutal honesty.
If the Scottish Government axes the 2030 climate target, it would be the inevitable consequence of their too slow and too shallow climate action to date.
Ambitious promises were always going to prove hollow without major new investment in delivery.
