In honor of Wellness Week, the students of Ms. Gannon's class at Bywood Elementary School designed a banner for their Wellness Pledge, which all of the students in the school then signed during their art classes!

Our Civic Engagement team recently revamped the basketball court at Sullivan Elementary, adding new lines, a brighter backboard, and a new net. The court was put to the test during Sullivan's March Madness tournament. We're grateful for opportunities to enhance school spaces!

We worked across the aisle to deliver stipends of up to $15,000 that eligible student teachers can apply for.

Yesterday, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Education visited Highland Park Elem. School to celebrate 50 years since adopting the firefly as PA's state insect. In 1974, 3rd graders at the school recommended the firefly as the state insect & on April 10, 1974, the firefly was adopted by the General Assembly!

Yesterday, I was joined by Deputy Secretary Kate Shaw on a visit to LCCC. We witnessed first-hand how students have opportunities to check out diverse career paths, setting them on a path to success when they enter the workforce.
