Under the Tories, punishment isn't working.

Criminals on suspended sentences avoided over 30 years worth of community service last year as chaos in the criminal justice system continues.

Labour will make sure that criminals carry out their sentences.

Absolutely shocking and a prime example of the weakness of environmental protection in this country. This stuff matters and we need to ensure the current powers are properly used as well as considering legal changes to strengthen enforcement.

So often the conversation about the need for more homes focuses on young people. But this demonstrates clearly how older people are also let down by our failure to build more council homes.

This is personal for me.

I’m standing to be an MP in the city I love and where I’ve chosen to live for 25 years.

I’ve not stood or tried to stand anywhere else. Nor do career & pay really motivate me and, frankly, never have.

Reports of the death of British nationals – among others from World Central Kitchen – in an Israeli strike on Gaza are horrifying. Our thoughts are with the families of all of those killed.

Surely these families have suffered enough. They shouldn’t have to “prove” what an independent report has already concluded: their children’s outcomes would have been better if it wasn’t for the poor care at east Kent nhs trust. The minister has questions to answer.
