An amazing send off from all our friends in the Netherlands. We are leaving with our hearts full of the gratitude the Dutch shower upon their liberators.

⁦Poppy Cabs⁩ taxi is now blinged up ready for the Wageningen parade.

Preparations are being made for Wageningen’s Liberation Day parade. The golf carts will be taking our veterans. Poppy Cab liveried taxi will also be in the parade. It’s a great honour to be allowed to do so,

At the Commonwealth War Graves Oosterbeek where Market Garden veteran Geoff Roberts, who served with The King’s Own Scottish Borderers is paying his respects to his two friends Plummer and Brown.

May 4th is a special day to Dutch people.

It is their day of Remembrance. Flags are flown at half mast. In the evening there is a service which is attended by the (Dutch) King. At 8pm there is a 2 minute silence. It’s all equivalent to our Remembrance Sunday services and parade

Normally the police make a charge for escorting vehicles. For our veterans there is no charge

They hold them in high regard

Very sad to share that D Day veteran William 'Bill' Gladden died earlier today. Our volunteer @paulcook said, 'It was one of the biggest privileges in my life to have known Bill. I will miss him dearly – he was one of our greatest heroes and also my friend. Travel well Bill.” 🇬🇧
