Two years ago, Joël van Houdt and I traveled for The Wall Street Journal to the front lines of the war in Yemen, where we came under fire from Iran-backed Houthi forces. The Houthis are now at epicenter of the regional war. I'm proud to have worked to keep the oft-overlooked war in the public eye.

Phil Klay Quil Lawrence Deep, tangled problems with family care in DoD. Current situation is half measures with poor alternatives for captive clientele. Throwing $$$ at contactors solves very little. Most families I know would rather go off base for services. MTF is last/only option.

Dan Lamothe IAVA Quil Lawrence Sad story..
I would love to see the military hospitals come back. I'm a retired USAF MEDIC and I know the talent that we brought to bear in Iraq.
They've admitted their errors...now course correct and fix it!!

Bringing care back into the MHS will also improve military providers' skillsets. DHA knows this has to happen, but also acknowledges the need to improve the MTFs and to regain beneficiaries' trust in order to move the needle.

Brian Storm Dan Lamothe Quil Lawrence Yup, my OBGYN doesn't take tricare anymore. She saw me for free this week so I could renew my prescription but I need to find someone new. My dentist also stopped taking united concordia at the first of the year, which is what you get when you have tricare.

''I got onto our little online forum, and I said, is anybody else having problems finding providers accepting Tricare?'

The replies came in a tidal wave.'

' 'Sorry, we don't take Tricare.' 'Sorry, we're not open to new patients.' We couldn't find a pediatrician for our son. Same thing — 'Sorry, we don't take Tricare,' '

I was stationed here in & if you were to, you know this is a common phrase. Great article by Quil Lawrence!

Patricia Kime Quil Lawrence NPR Time in and time out, we hear this ' We don't take Tri-Care' as the reimbursement doesn't cover the cost of turning on the lights. Not just for medical, but dental and Vision. Why do we, and our families have to suffer with substandard or no care.
