A Peregrine was found mortally injured on Dove Stone nature reserve in the Peak District National Park on 4 April. Sadly, due to the severity of its injuries the bird had to be euthanised. (1/8)

Dunlins are a hidden wader gem. Dove Stone is a haven for them in the Peak District. The partnership site with @UntitedUtilities is a success with bare, eroding peatlands being restored back to a wet bog, supporting fantastic numbers of Dunlin creating a conservation miracle 🌟

We're getting well into spring now and the first spring flowers are blooming. Common Dog Violet and Primrose are two species we've spotted in the meadows this week. The violets will hopefully be feeding Dark Green Fritillary caterpillars, which should emerge as adults by June!

We've been busy installing willow dams in erosion gullies. I think you can agree they're working really well. They help slow the flow of water as part of natural flood management, add diversity to the landscape & help raise water table. #nature #conservation #restoration

Our amazing volunteers & the staff team spent a wet day picking up 67 bagfuls of litter & dog mess. Sad that some come here, enjoy themselves but have so little respect for the countryside, wildlife or other people. Using the bins or taking it home doesn’t seem to occur to them.

With the Friends of Sholver Millennium Green we're enabling @RSPBDovestone to utilise the Green's Willow. Over 750 stakes and 300 bundles will be used for peatland restoration at @unitedutilites Dove Stone to boost habitat, water quality & reinforcing the moors as a carbon sink.
